LIVEWIRE Brunei organised another round of the ‘Bright Ideas’ workshop, which comprised 57 participants mostly from the Youth Development Centre (PBB). The two-day event was held at the Sultan Saiful Rizal’s Lecture Theatre.
The workshop focuses on business creativity and mindsets necessary for start-ups. The programmes and activities arranged are set according to LiveWIRE’s international standards and patterned for local needs.
The Head of the Youth Development Centre, Dyg Hajah Fatimah binti Pehin Penyurat Haji Awg Mohd Salleh, explained that the course on entrepreneurship is the key subject under the Youth Skills Development Programme and the Youth Development Resources.
“The Bright Ideas workshop is aimed at grooming and preparing them for the business world and provides exposure to become a successful entrepreneur. Participants will also learn the importance of being responsible, innovative, creative and competitive.
“To date, about 60 per cent of youths aged between 18 and 40 years old, from PBB have ventured into entrepreneurship using the micro-grants scheme,” she said.
PBB would like to convey their sincere gratitude to the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Alcoa for their collaboration and contribution to this programme.
This is the eighth such workshop organised by LiveWIRE and second one for PBB this year.
The workshop will conclude today with various activities lined up for the participants followed by a certificate presentation.
