WORK SHOPS

The FIRST is to provide information for those who want to know about starting and running a small business. This is made by the distribution of printed materials through the enquiry service. Some information is downloadable from this Web-site.

The SECOND activity is providing training in the basics of starting and running a business. Training are delivered in partnerships with Resource & Standard Centre of the Ministry of Industry & Primary Resources, KPMG, HSBC and Brunei Shell Petroleum’s own Learning and Development Centre. SEAMEO-VOCTECH provides the training facilities at its VOCTECH International House at Gadong.

The THIRD activity is giving advice and mentoring. This service differentiates this programme from other similar initiatives. Mentoring is probably the most valuable service a young person can hope to get when starting a new business. Mentors are typically bankers, auditors and individuals with direct experience in running a small business.

The FOURTH activity is the Award competition. This is to held once a year to give recognition to a young person who succeeded in starting up their own business. The WINNERS are to be awarded with cash prizes and an all-expense-paid trip to attend an Award Ceremony in an another country. They are to become LiveWIRE’s ROLE MODELS for other young people to follow.
